ÃÖȲ/Choi H
Abstract
Renal angiography was performed in 16 cases in the Department of Urology, Seoul National University Hospital during the period August, 1971 through September, 1972 and the following results were obtained. 1. Renal angiography wag useful in the differentiation of renal tumor and cyst. Renal tumors (4 cases) represented characteristic findings by their bizarre vascular pattern, e.g., puddling, corkscrew pattern and A.V communication. Renal cysts (3 cases) showed curvilinear distortion of normal blood vessels and it was avascular and translucent in nephrogram phase. 2. Tumor of the renal pelvis yielded no abnormal findings in 1 case but fine tumor vessel visualized in the other case. 3. Angiography was helpful in the diagnosis of hydronephrosis and in evaluating the amount of remaining parenchyma. 4. One patient with renal tuberculosis and hydrocalyx was misdiagosed as cyst or tumor on angiogram 5. Stenotic legions of the main renal artery were found in two cases, one atherosclerotic lesion, the other fibromuscular hyperplasia. 6. Angiography was of no aid in the diagnosis of two cases with gross hematuria.
